Triple-temper heat treatment, combined with cryogenic freezing, makes a superior steel that will hold an edge up to 3 times longer than tools made of M2 high-speed steel. Every Crown M42 Razor Edge Tool comes with a beautiful Black Ash handle with polished copper ferrule. The name says it all – Roughing Gouge. This tool is designed primarily for taking square spindle stock down to round or planing flat surfaces on spindles. The extra-wide flute allows for rapid stock removal without splintering. NOT FOR USE ON BOWLS AT ANY TIME.
